I made my jeans blast (or why Milan foodies end obsessed with the gym).

The ones hanging with me know that I love Nature as much as I love Food.

Yesterday, while I was bending over a flower to capture the first signs of spring, I literally made my jeans blast.

My first reaction was a big freedom laugh. This tight jean was a continuous recall to the fact that I should diet and the blast reminded me this famous quote in "Eat Pray Love":

"Let me ask you something, in all the years that you have...undressed in front of a gentleman has he ever asked you to leave? Has he ever walked out and left? No? It's because he doesn't care! He's in a room with a naked girl, he just won the lottery. I am so tired of saying no, waking up in the morning and recalling every single thing I ate the day before, counting every calorie I consumed so I know just how much self loathing to take into the shower. I'm going for it. I have no interest in being obese, I'm just through with the guilt. So this is what I'm going to do, I'm going to finish this pizza, and then we are going to go watch the soccer game, and tomorrow we are going to go on a little date and buy ourselves some bigger jeans."

I remember when I arrived in Italy, I discovered a country where curvy shapes were more accepted than in France and the love for food was common culture (yes, Italians talk a lot about food, just listen to their phone conversations).

Though Milan being a capital, body culture can become quite an obsession in some fields, and not only in the Fashion one. Almost all the people I know working in the food field are either dieting or practising a lot of sports.

If you look to what's happening on Instagram, it seems it has become an unsolvable equation every foodie has to solve. Each time I open my IG search wall, I will got suggested either food or sports (not to mention the paradisiac beaches).

I believe the rise of Instagram brought even more dissatisfaction in body acceptance. People keep comparing themselves to photoshop bodies, perfect pause/lights combinations, or people doing sport for a living.

I believe living with a muffin top leads to self rejection for a lot of people, which at the end, are just living a normal life. And this how, in this liquid society you become the witness of a lot of eating disorders, fast followed by cheat meals and constant guilts instead of just enjoying simply life. Food becomes a constant fight between pleasure and healthy nurturing.

So yes, if you want to know, I will buy a new pair of bigger jeans but I hope that people won't forget to enjoy more life without guilty feelings and be more unbiased while staring their instagram walls.

Life is happening now.
