I went to eat in a fish shop !

When I’m in duomo area, I always wonder where to eat something quick without ending in a touristic place.

Well, in the street of PECK, one of the most famous fine grocery of Milan, you can find the pescheria Spadari. Recently they have organized the shop to include a “restaurant” area.

Basically, you can pick a dish among a daily selection of fish recipes (primo or secondo) and eat it directly in the shop.

Even if the pescheria is downtown, the street is less crowded and more peaceful. So I thought it was an address to try.

When I pushed the door of the shop, I got immediately submerged by the smell of the raw fish and told myself: I can’t eat there, the smell is too strong. Then I thought my nose would get used to it, so I went ordering.

I ordered and while I was waiting for my plate, I could still smell the fish…

Kid, I wanted to be “nez” and work in the perfume field. My nose was already hyper developed and this is how I was thinking to exploit this “negative” skill.

Anyway, so when my plate arrived, I could still smell the raw fish. It was difficult to focus on the flavors of the plate without being overwhelmed by the rest. I was happy to have a quick lunch there and not spend a full diner cause I could have never made it.

My dish was good though. I paid around 10€ the primo.

I want to go back to buy some fish and see how it is. For the rest unfortunately I won’t be eating there anymore. But for anyone not so sensitive to smells, I recommend to go there once, they say it’s one of the best of Milan. Marketing or Reality ? I let you try and decide…
